It was a successful trip for Helena during their time in Blaine, Minnesota, with 2 wins in 3 games, and a lot of learning experiences.

Sunday was the start of their showcase, and it began playing the Oregon Tradesman.  Although it didn’t end in their favor with a 3-1 win for the Tradesman, Helena fought hard and kept the Tradesman on their toes.  Goalie Marek Andres saved 30 out of the 33 shots on net, and Tyler Bloom scored the lone goal for Helena, assisted by Braden Cunningham.

Helena continued with the strength and determination into Monday’s game against the Texas Brahmas, and this time they came out on top with a 3-0 victory.  Marek Andres celebrated a shut out by stopping all 17 shots on net.  Goals for Helena were scored by Tyler Bloom (Braden Cunningham, Camden Cunningham), Andrew Deskin (Garrett Bogan, Darby McCarthy), and again by Tyler Bloom (Garrett Bogan).

Tuesday was the final game for Helena, and also another win with a 6-2 victory over the Norwich Sea Captains.  Goals for the Bighorns were scored by Lyndon Orr (Padraic Whited, Darby McCarthy), Camden Cunningham (Tyler Bloom), Camden Cunningham (Braden Cunningham, Harlan Wojtusik), Mason Eggen (TJ Norris), Harlan Wojtusik (Padraic Whited, Mason Eggen), and Darby McCarthy (TJ Norris, Padraic Whited).  Marek Andres had another successful game with 22 saves out of the 24 shots on net.

The team heads home for the holidays and will be back in Helena on December 26th to get ready for a New Years Eve weekend road trip to Great Falls, for back-to-back games against the Great Falls Americans.  Our next home games are January 6th and 7th against the Gillette Wild.  You can get tickets for those games at Play It Again Sports- Helena, or online at Tickets | Helena Bighorns.
