Rematch with Gillette, Missoula

This weekend the Helena Bighorns look to redeem themselves against the only teams to have beaten them this season as they host the Gillette Wild and Missoula Maulers at the Helena Ice Arena in a two game home-stand.

Friday’s game against the Wild (7-10-2, 14 points) will be just the third meeting between the two teams. In their previous matchup at Gillette, the Wild won 4-2 despite being outshot 79-32 by the Bighorns.

The Bighorns (17-2-1, 35 points), are on a current 4 game win streak since their weekend sweep to the Maulers two weeks ago and have outscored opponents 33-6 in the same span. Saturday’s contest is a premiere match-up with no. 1 vs no. 2 as the Maulers (16-3-1, 33 points) vie for first place in the league.

In addition, during pre-game ceremonies for Saturday’s game, the children’s choir of R.H. Radley Elementary will sing the national anthem and at intermission all fans who bring dog toys can participate in the ‘Dog-Toy Toss’ to benefit the animals of the Lewis & Clark Humane Society. The Dog-Toy Toss is very similar to the Teddy Bear Toss scheduled for the Bighorns’ Christmas game December 17 against the Billings Bulls.
