He is currently skating with the Ft. Worth Brahmas of the Central Hockey League. Playing pro hockey was something Molnar had on his mind way back in 2006, when he first joined the Bighorns. “Alex had pro hockey on his mind from the day he got here,” said Bighorns President, Mike Butters. “It was our job to help him realize his dream by helping him get to college to add maturity and round out his game.”

After setting Junior career highs of 37 goals and 35 assists in 39 games with the Bighorns during the 2006-07 regular season, the native of Nitra, Slovakia led the ‘Horns in playoff scoring that year by scoring 9 goals and 8 assists in just 11 games. It was this play that earned him a spot on the Salem State Vikings roster for the duration of his college career.

In 89 games with Salem State, Molnar had 16 goals and 21 assists to go with 62 penalty minutes. It is no surprise to Butters that Molnar is playing professional hockey. “Aside from being a top-notch player, he is a quality person. His work ethic and character will propel him to success in whatever he does.”

During their 10th Year Anniversary celebration, the Bighorns will be featuring several alumni spotlights.

The Bighorns play a home-and-home series vs. the Billings Bulls with the first game taking place at the Helena Ice Arena this Friday. Tickets can be purchased at the Helena Ice Arena or online at
