Tanner Congdon was all over the ice for Great Falls, as he tallied two goals and one assist in Great Falls\’ 5-1 win over Helena.
Congdon scored at 8:30 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 9:51 into the first to make the score 2-1 Great Falls.
Helena was stymied by Great Falls\’ netminder Jake Stephan, who stopped 45 shots during the victory. Stephan managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.99 prior to the game.
Great Falls also got points from Josh Larson, who also had one goal and two assists. Great Falls also had goals scored by Mitchell Ramstad and Brendan Jester, who scored one goal each. In addition, Great Falls received assists from Reed Link, Wade Wylie, Connor Barta, and Ricards Bernhards, who each chipped in one.
Helena could not produce up to its normal offensive output. Helena puts an average of 3.5 pucks into the net per game. Helena\’s offense rang up 46 shots on Great Falls\’ net.
Helena was led by Wyatt Stotts, who scored the team\’s only goal. Stotts scored on the power play 2:55 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Helena. A roughing penalty on Miles Giorgione had put Helena on the power play. Ryan Daugherty picked up the assist.
Great Falls incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Great Falls ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Arseny Ivanov was ejected from the game. Helena incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
