General Manager/Head Coach - Bob Richards

Bob Richards enters his second year as the Head Coach/General Manager of the Bighorns for the 2017-18 season. In his first season Coach Richards led the Bighorns to a playoff berth for after a two year absence. Prior to taking the helm of the Bighorns, Bob was the Head Coach of the Helena High School Hockey team for two years, winning a state championship and state runner-up during that time. Bob is very familiar with Helena, having played for the Helena Ice Pirates of the Tier II America West Hockey League for three years and serving as an assistant coach for the Bighorns from 2006-2008. After his playing days in Helena Bob played collegiately at Wayne State University and Salem State University.

Bob resides in Helena with his wife Dana, and three sons; James, Mason, and Carter.

Assistant Coach - Tommi Haikka

From Tampere, Finland, Haikka played for the Bighorns in 2002-03. That was the final year in which foreign-born players were allowed to play in the America West Hockey League, where Helena played at the time.

It took Haikka a bit of time to settle into the American game. But once he did, he definitely made an impact. In 45 games, the forward scored 13 goals and dished out 25 assists.

As a player, Haikka had a strong shot but also great ice vision and a preference for the assist.
