Helena’s Hess Signs with St.Louis

Hess makes the move to St. Louis after two successful campaigns in Helena. The 6'2", 180 lb. centerman led all players in league scoring last year, scoring 41 times and adding 73 assists for 114 pts. in just 46 games during the regular season. The 1st team all-star also had 6 goals and 13 assists in 9 games as he led the Bighorns to their 4th straight league championship and their 6th in the last 7 years.

In 89 regular season games over 2 seasons with Helena, Hess totalled 65 goals and 101 assists. In the playoffs, The Decatur, IN native scored 15 times while adding 19 assists in 20 games.

Hess will be entering his last year of junior eligibility and looks forward to making his mark in St. Louis this season, something Bighorns President, Mike Butters, sees as a solid opportunity for the 20 year old. "Cody is an intelligent player. He figures out how to get open and gets it done at both ends of the ice. The Bighorns kick off their 11th annual training camp at the Helena Ice Arena on August 25th. The camp is highlighted with the Blue/White Game, which will be held Saturday evening.
