Helena came out with 3 out of the possible 4 points they could have gained this weekend, in a two-weekend series against the Bozeman Icedogs.

Friday’s game had the Bighorns in Bozeman’s rink.  Helena ended the first period with a one goal lead, then scoring another goal in the second putting them up by two goals.  Bozeman scored back to make it a one goal difference, and the game ended in a 2-1 win for Helena.  Goals for Helena were scored by Camden Cunningham (Zach Turner, Dylan Cunningham), and Harlan Wojtusik (TJ Norris, Zach Turner).  Helena goalie Gabe Swanson saved 23 out of 24 shots against him in net.

Saturday’s game had Helena hosting Bozeman on home ice, and Helena’s arena had a sellout crowd just shy of 2,000 people.  The game stayed close between the two teams and went into overtime with both teams ending the third period with two goals each.  Bozeman ended up getting the win and ended the game with a 3-2 victory over the Bighorns.  Goals for the Bighorns were scored by Camden Cunningham (Braden Cunningham), and Tyler Bloom (Braden Cunningham).  Jesse Schindel was in net Saturday for Helena, saving 38 out of the 41 shots against him.

Helena’s next games will be a 2-game series against the Butte Cobras, this will be their first time facing each other this season.  Friday the Bighorns will head to Butte, and Saturday Butte will head to Helena.  You can get tickets for Saturday’s game, November 19th, at Play It Again Sports, online at Tickets for Helena Bighorns vs Butte Cobras | vivenu, or at the door.  Doors open at 6:00pm, the action starts at 7:05pm!
