Helena Bighorns and ‘Family Fun Day’ deemed succuess.

Members of the Helena Bighorns organization were on hand this past weekend at 'Family Fun Day' held at Kindrick Legion Field.  Following Blue Cross Blue Shield's annual Fun Run, Saturday's event included varying activities showing children the importance and excitement in an active, healthy life.  Station activities included zumba, frisbee golf, gymnastics, martial arts, volleyball, whiffle ball, and hockey.
At the hockey station participants were able to practice their passing and hone their slap shots.  Hockey sticks, a goal, and a blacktop ball were all supplied, and at times there were even games of 3-on-3 in the makeshift  rink, made of side-turned tables providing a more suitable hockey environment.  "The kids loved the hockey station.  There was so much camaraderie from everyone, as seen from the teens helping out the tiny-tots.  We had some good little players out here, too," said Bighorns front office personnel Ben Wahl.  "It's great for the families and children to be outside, to be active, to play the game, and with our players coming back to Helena this Thursday for training camp, now we can give the chance for people to see the game."
At the conclusion of the event was an autograph session by the Helena Brewers and all participating children received a free voucher to the night's home game vs. the Orem Owlz.
