Greenbush’s hat trick boosts Yellowstone over Helena, 4-2

Curtis Greenbush lifted Yellowstone to a 4-2 victory with a hat trick against Helena.

Greenbush\’s first goal came 10:45 into the first period. He then added goals at 15:48 into the second and at 6:04 into the third.

Yellowstone stifled Helena\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Yellowstone forced Helena goalie Alex Kruger to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

Mike McCullen also scored for Yellowstone. More assists for Yellowstone came via Manuel Manero, who had two and Cosimo Yapello, Tanner Vincent, Tony Dahlberg, and Will Landsverk, who each chipped in one.

Helena excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Yellowstone was unable to stop Helena from sending pucks towards the net, and Helena eventually piled up 43 shots on goal.

Helena was led by Ryan Daugherty, who grabbed two goals. Daugherty scored the first of his two goals at 1:24 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Brandon Mills provided the assist. Daugherty\’s next tally made the score 2-1 Helena with 13:19 left in the second period. Other players who recorded assists for Helena were Gavin Lubin, who had one.

Lance Knudson recorded 41 saves for Yellowstone. Yellowstone incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Alex Kruger made 33 saves for Helena on 37 shots. Helena incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
