Helena’s first scoring opportunity of the evening came just four minutes into the game when forward Christian Axelsson scored on the power play. Teammate Kyle Baker scored six minutes later to give the Bighorns a 2-0 lead. Neither team was able to score again and Billings went to the first intermission trailing the Bighorns 2-0.

The second period’s loan goal came from Bighorns Assistant Captain Theo Campe just four minutes into the period. Both team’s defenses shined, allowing less than ten shots-on-goal for the period. The third period started out much as the same as the first two with the Bighorns getting a goal early in the period. Baker scored his second goal for the evening halfway through the period. Corbin Belling of the Bighorns wrapped up the evening with a power play goal with just five minutes left in the game. The final seconds of the game saw the Bighorns with another “W” in the win column and goalie Jett Salinas with another shut-out, at 6-0.

The Bighorns return to home ice when they host the Glacier Nationals Saturday evening for “Ugly Sweater” Night. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit www.HelenaBighorns.com or call (406) 457-2817.
