Friday’s game between the Helena Bighorns and Butte Irish was a physical one with no lack of penalties between either teams during the game, but Helena ultimately came out on top, taking home a 6-3 victory. Goals for Helena were scored by Chase Berg (Finn Theriault), Caden Feinstein (Finn Theriault), Colin Becker (Trey Pareja, Jeffrey Hershberger), Jeffrey Hershberger (Trey Pareja, Maddux Hale), Jeffrey Hershberger (Kelton Chadwick, Trey Pareja), and Brandon Mcilhany (unassisted). Malik Johnson and Tyler Miller both shared the net for Helena, saving 28 of the 31 shots on net.
It was a packed crowd at Steed Arena on Saturday night, with fans eagerly anticipating another win to continue to the Bighorn’s streak, but unfortunately Helena fell short and took their first home loss since 2022. The game was close, with no goals being scored for most of the game, until the Americans snuck one past Helena goaltender Tyler Miller. With many power play opportunities, Helena was unsuccessful to put a point on the board, and the game ended in a 1-0 win for Great Falls.
