It was another two back-to-back victories for the Helena Bighorns, winning both of their weekend’s games against the Sheridan Hawks.
Friday and Saturday night held the highest attendance records so far this season in the Helena Ice Arena, Friday with over 1,300 people, and Saturday with over 1,400 people.
Friday night’s game was Military Appreciation Night, and ended in a 9-1 victory for Helena, with AJ Adelman in net, saving 18 of the 19 shots on net from Sheridan. Goals were scored by Erik Gibboney (Corbin Skinner), Liam Bland (Tylor Greene, Garrett Bogan), Logan Matheny (Garrett Bogan, Andrew MacCallum), Tylor Greene (Liam Bland, Andrew MacCallum), Nick Cofer (Tyler Alldredge, Andrew Deskin), Wyatt Barton (Adam Harvey, Erik Gibboney), Andrew MacCallum (Taber Gutschick, Harlan Wojtusik), Adam Harvey (Erik Gibboney), and Tylor Greene (Erik Gibboney, Jonny Peterson). Friday’s game was sponsored by Rework Design.
Saturday’s game was sponsored by Helena Cycle Center, they committed to donating $100 for each Bighorns goal to Toys For Tots, which brought their donation to $1,500 with an end of game score of 15-0. An anonymous donor matched that donation, and a third donor, Premier Heating and Air Conditioning, contributed another $1,000 donation, bringing the total amount raised for Toys For Tots to $4,000. Erik Buchholz stood strong in net with a shoutout, and 17 saves.
