BIGHORNS SWEEP SABRES IN FIRST TWO REGULAR SEASON GAMES

The Bighorns came out with a strong start to the season, with two wins against the Badlands Sabres this past weekend in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Friday’s game started with a pretty even first two periods between the two teams, with the second period ending in a 4-3 lead for the Bighorns.  The Bighorns took a huge lead in the third period, not letting past anymore goals for Badlands, and getting in 4 more of their own, with the game ending in an 8-3 win for Helena.  Goals for Helena were scored by Gavyn Lund (Camden Cunningham), Camden Cunningham (Tyler Bloom, Dylan Cunningham), Andrew Deskin (Darby McCarthy, Dylan Cunningham), Andrew Deskin (Darby McCarthy, Edvin Astrom), Gavyn Lund (Braden Cunningham, Camden Cunningham), Tyler Bloom (Braden Cunningham, Camden Cunningham), TJ Norris (Harlan Wojtusik, Logan Matheny), and Dylan Cunningham (Thomas Hollon, TJ Norris).  Jesse Schindel stood in net for the Bighorns with 20 out of 23 saves for the night.

Saturday’s game ended in a shutout for Bighorns goalie Gabe Swanson, giving the Bighorns a 4-0 victory over the Sabres.  Goals scored for the Bighorns were by Andrew Deskin (Tyler Alldredge, Thomas Hollon), Logan Powers (Dylan Cunningham, TJ Norris), Braden Cunningham (Tyler Bloom, Padraic Whited), and Harlan Wojtusik (Gavyn Lund).
