The high scoring affair for the Bighorns began at the 3:47 mark in the first when Wyatt Winfield registered the first goal of the night. Christian Axelsson added one more goal to the lead at the 9:38 mark giving Helena a 2-0 lead heading into the first intermission.
The second period was more of the same for the Bighorns as they continued to wear on Bozeman’s defense. The Bighorns added five more goals in the second period including an impressive unassisted goal by Theo Campe within the final ten seconds of the period.
The wheels came off for the Icedogs in the third period as the Bighorns scored seven more goals. Adding insult to injury, three of these goals were scored in the space of less than a minute as the Bighorns never let up the offensive attack.
The Bighorns had an astounding 90 shots-on-goal for the night. Theo Campe and Parker Olson led the Bighorns in goals for the night each with two.
The Bighorns defense was stifling, only allowing 20 shots-on-goal all night. Alek Lazarski registered the shutout in a relatively slow night at goal.
The Bighorns return to the ice on Friday, December 14 in Missoula as they take on the Maulers in a clash between league leaders.
