In honor of the holiday season, the Helena Bighorns hosted the Glacier Nationals for Ugly Sweater Night. The hockey sweaters weren’t ugly but the fans showed up with a great representation of hideous Christmas sweaters. The Bighorns played hockey in their usual manner, scoring the first goal of the evening seven minutes into the game with a shot from Corbin Belling. Teammate Wyatt Winfield made the second goal of the evening just thirty-six seconds later. The Bighorns scored a third goal with just two minutes left in the period to lead the Nationals 3-0 going into the first intermission.

The second period was slow for both goalies, with the Bighorns scoring the lone goal of the period nearly seven minutes in. The Bighorns went on a scoring streak in the third period, scoring four more goals over the course of seventeen minutes. Parker Olson scored the final goal of the evening on a power play opportunity with just thirty-four seconds left in the game. The Nationals were unable to come up with a single goal for the evening, allowing the Bighorns a 8-0 shut-out.

The Bighorns return to home ice on Friday, December 28 for their final home game of 2012. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit or call (406) 457-2817.
