In celebration of Black Friday, the Bighorns donned their black jerseys for their game against the Bozeman Icedogs. Helena got off to a quick start when defenseman Nick Okada scored with a little over two minutes gone in the first period. Bozeman answered with a goal of their own just seventy seconds later to pull even with the Bighorns. The tie didn’t last long however as the Bighorns once more took advantage of home ice to go on an offensive attach. Dylan Webster broke the tie near the halfway point of the first period, ending his night with two goals and an assist. The last half of the first period, the Bighorns displayed how quick and deadly their offense can be. The Bighorns scored four more goals in the first, with three of these goals scored in less than a minute.
In the second period, Helena continued to dominate. Bozeman was not given many opportunities to do anything on offense, instead spending most of the period trying to pull their defense together. Three more goals in the third, including Ben Henne’s hat trick goal, added to Helena’s lead as they coasted to a tenth straight victory.
Troy Turpin had an exceptional night in goal having 17 saves on 18 shots. Turpin recovered from the early Bozeman goal and concluded a solid outing in goal having 17 saves on 18 shots.
The Bighorns conclude the weekend with a trip to Great Falls as they take on the Americans on Saturday. Helena then wraps up the month of November on Friday the 30thas Helena takes on the Icedogs once again, this time in Bozeman.
