Bighorns Ring In The New Year With A Sweep Over The Sabres

The Bighorns not only ended 2021 with a win, but they started 2022 with another win, defeating the Badlands Sabres in both games over the weekend.

Friday’s game ended in a 6-3 outcome for Helena.  Dylan Romanow saved 25 of the 28 shots on Helena’s net, while the Bighorns got 46 shots on net with 6 of those getting through.  Goals for the Bighorns were scored by Adam Harvey (Gavyn Galloway, Logan Matheny), Trace Taranto (Andrew Deskin, Gavyn Galloway), Liam Bland (Sam Feamster, Wyatt Barton), and for Liam Bland (Erik Gibboney, Taber Gutschick), another for Adam Harvey (Jonny Peterson, Branwen Pollett), and Gavyn Galloway, unassisted.

Saturday’s game had Eric Buchholz between the pipes, saving 22 of the 25 shots from the Sabres.  Helena had 54 shots on net, with 7 of those shots getting through, ending in a 7-3 victory against the Sabres.  Goals for the Bighorns were scored by Sam Feamster (Liam Bland, Branwen Pollett), Adam Harvey (Wyatt Barton, Branwen Pollett), Liam Bland (Andrew Deskin, Sam Feamster), another for Liam Bland (Sam Feamster, Taber Gutschick), Sam Feamster (Branwen Pollett), Dylan Cunningham (Sam Feamster, Erik Gibboney), and Taber Gutschick (Logan Matheny, Nick Cofer).

The Bighorns will spend next weekend on home ice, taking on the Bozeman Icedogs Friday night, and the Great Falls Americans on Saturday night.  Tickets can be purchased online, at Play It Again Sports, or at the door.  Doors open at 6:00pm each night, and the puck drops at 7:05pm.
