The Helena Bighorns are excited to announce that the team will be partnering with the Lewis & Clark Humane Society this holiday season. On Friday, December 2nd, the Bighorns will be hosting a pet parade during the first intermission. The parade will feature several dogs that currently reside at the Humane Society and are looking for their forever home. 

On December 10th, the Bighorns will be hosting a “dog toy toss.” Fans are encouraged to bring a new dog toy (Kong, rope toy, hard toy, etc.) with then to the game. The toys will be tossed onto the ice during the first intermission and all donations will be given to the Humane Society to benefit the animals there. 

This year’s tree raffle will also benefit the Human Society. The Bighorn Themed Tree stands at 6.5', and comes pre-lit. A white tree, it is decorated with blue & silver garland, ornaments in black, silver, and white and is topped with a one of a kind piece of Bighorns Memorabilia. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Tickets can be purchased at the Helena Ice Arena or at the Bighorns Bar during Bighorns hockey games. The winner of the tree will be chosen at the Bighorns game on December 17th.  

Fans are also invited to bring donations for the Humane Society to Bighorns games between now and December 17. Items needed by the shelter include: paper towels, bleach, old bed sheets and comforters (flannel and cotton), towels, small jars of meat (baby food type only), large bags of white rice, white copier paper, distilled water (one gallon containers), fleece remnants, dog & cat toys, cat litter, and monetary donations are always accepted. The Lewis & Clark Humane Society provides the Helena area with an invaluable service and the Bighorns wish to recognize their efforts.
