Danny Fazio opened up the game for the Bighorns early in the first period, scoring at the 4:58 mark. Fazio added another goal on the powerplay with an assist from Ben Henne, giving the Bighorns a 2-0 lead going into the first intermission. Bighorns fans were then treated to the annual, crowd pleasing Turkey Bowling. Courtesy of Heritage Food Store in East Helena, five Bighorns fans went home with a Thanksgiving Turkey.

Defensemen Brandon Rumble gave the Bighorns yet another point just forty seconds into the second with goalie Jett Salinas getting the assist. Missoula finally got on the board with their first goal of the evening eight minutes into the period. Helena wasn’t done, going on to score an unassisted goal from team captain Ben Henne and a power play goal from Rumble.

The start of the third period saw yet another quick goal, this one coming from forward Christian Axelsson just twenty-one seconds in. Teammate Kyle Baker finished the scoring for the Bighorns for the evening with a final power play goal just a ninety seconds later. Missoula was able to come up with a final goal for the evening to make the final score 7-2.

The Bighorns utilized their powerplay opportunities going 3 for 5 on the night. The powerplay goals late in the game assisted in the Bighorns pulling away for another victory. Christian Axelsson and Ben Henne each had outstanding games for the Bighorns. Axelsson had a goal and two assists on the night. Henne added a goal of his own and had three assists. The Bighorns overpowered Missoula on offense having 58 shots on goal as opposed to the Maulers’ 40. Missoula’s offense was attacking all night long and still getting many quality looks, but Jett Salinas was once again on his game. He ended his night with 38 saves on 40 shots.

The Bighorns return to home ice on Friday, November 23 as they host the Bozeman Icedogs. The special Black Friday edition of Bighorns hockey will feature the Bighorns sporting their black jerseys, a sale in the merchandise store with all items being 25% off.
