It appears that scoring within the first two minutes of a period is becoming a habit of forward Theo Campe. Theo earned the first goal of the evening ninety-eight seconds into the period to give the Bighorns a quick 1-0 lead. The next goal of the night didn’t come until more than half way through the second period with a goal from Billings to tie things up.
Helena regained the lead eight-and-a-half minutes into the third with a goal from Cody Blom. Bighorns fans waited nervously to see if the team would be able to hang onto its lead; especially when the Bulls pulled their goalie in the last minute of the game to have an extra attacker on the ice. This gave Bighorns’ forward Ben Henne the opportunity to score an empty net goal with just twenty-four seconds left in the game. With their 3-1 win tonight, the Bighorns have now won all three games of the series against the Bulls.
The Bighorns travel to Billings on Saturday to face the Bulls for Game Four. IF the Bighorns win their game on Saturday, they will have swept the series and will advance to the next round in play-offs. If they lose tomorrow, they will then return to Helena to host the Bulls on Sunday with the puck dropping at 5:05 PM.
