Bighorns Host Billings in Saturday Christmas Game

This Saturday evening the AWHL first-place Helena Bighorns host the third-place Billings Bulls at the Helena Ice Arena.  The Bulls (14-6-1) will visit the Queen City for the first time since a shootout loss on their home ice to the Bighorns (19-2-1) more than two months ago.

Saturday evening’s game will feature 7 of the top 10 American West Hockey League points leaders (Billings 4, Helena 3).  The Bulls’ Paul Hoffman leads the team with 19 goals and teammate Daniel Chang ranks second in the AWHL points standings with 41 (18 goals, 23 assists).  Helena’s Ryan Parkhouse leads the league in goals (23), assists (26), and points (49) in just 22 games this season.

For this weekend’s matchup the Bighorns will be celebrating their Christmas game.  From 6:30-8:30 Santa Claus will be on hand at the Helena Ice Arena where fans can sit down and take pictures.  This game also features the annual Teddy Bear Toss.  Fans are encouraged to bring a new teddy bear and following the first Bighorns goal of the evening toss them onto the ice.  The teddy bears are collected and donated to Toys for Tots and distributed locally by the Marines.  Also scheduled for the evening is the grand opening of the Bighorns Store, an ugly sweater contest, and player autographs following the game.

Fans are encouraged to purchase remaining tickets at the Helena Ice Arena ticket box office, online at, or by calling the Bighorns Ticket Hotline at 457-2817.
