The 17-year-old, Los Angeles, CA native was called up to play for the Wenatchee Wild this Wednesday. Salinas joined the Bighorns in July 2011 during training camp and has continued to make an impact with the team since. To date, Salinas has played 12 regular season games for the Bighorns, winning all but one. In those 12 games, he has only allowed 20 goals, resulting in a 1.67 goals-against-average and has a save percentage of 0.934. Salinas has been instrumental in allowing the Bighorns to come up with several big wins this season. In his last game on December 30th against the Missoula Maulers, Salinas only allowed the Maulers to score once on 17 shots-on-goal. Due to his excellent net minding, the Bighorns came up with a 5-1 win and regained first place in thw AWHL standings.
The Wenatchee Wild is a NAHL team based in Wenatchee, WA. The team was founded in 2008 as an NAHL expansion team. The team made a championship run its first two years of existence, losing the championship its first year 3-2 in overtime.
