HELENA, MT – Trey Flesch, one of the Bighorns net minders last season, made his college to commitment to St. Scholastica this week, announced Bighorns' President, Mike Butters.

Flesch, who hails from Walker Minnesota, turned in impressive numbers with the Bighorns 2012 AWHL Championship team. He finished the 2011-2012 regular season with a record of 22-5. In doing so, he posted a regular season goals against average of 1.40 and a save percentage of .935 to go along with 3 shutouts. His playoff numbers were equally impressive, posting a 4-1 record with a GAA of 1.40 and save % of .955.

“This is a special day for Trey,” said Bighorns Head Coach Scott Cunningham. “He is one of the hardest working goaltenders we ever had. He is a young man of quality and whenever we are able to be a part of a player’s scholastic path, we take great pride in it.”

The commitment by Flesch, coupled with Jett Salinas’ signing with the Corpus Cristi Rays, mean the Bighorns have both of their goaltending spots up for grabs this year. Bighorns President, Mike Butters, say Big Blue fans need not worry as the team has 3 solid recruits battling for the positions. “We have seen plenty of talent during our recruiting this summer”, said Butters. “Currently we have 3 capable young who can come in and compete for those spots. It should be a spirited battle at camp next month.

The Bighorns’ main camp is set for August 23-26th at the Helena Ice Arena, with the 11th Annual Blue/White Classic set for that Saturday. Admission to training camp is free to all and the Blue/White Classic is free to all season ticket holders.
