Bighorns end weekend with a win and a loss

The Bighorns were put to the test this weekend, ending it with in a win and a loss, both thanks to the Great Falls Americans.

 

Friday’s game was a home game for Helena, which seems to always help the momentum with the loud and loyal fans who fill the seats of Steed Arena.  And a success it was, as Helena ended the game with a 7-1 win over Great Falls.  Goals for Helena were credited to Trey Pareja (unassisted), Finn Theriault (Chase Berg, Cai Robinson), Marcus Ray (Caden Feinstein, Kelton Chadwick), Cam Young (Maddux Hale, G’bari Mayers), Jeffery Hershberger (Marcus Ray, Austin Uecker), Maddux Hale (Brandon Mcilhany, Finn Theriault), and Finn Theriault (Caden Feinstein). Helena’s goaltender Tyler Miller stopped 22 of the 23 shots on his net.

 

Saturday had the Bighorns traveling to Great Falls for the first time this season, and Great Falls was out for revenge.  They were up 2 goals with Helena struggling to catch up, but they finally did and tied the game.  Great Falls ended out on top with the last goal, and ended the game with a 3-2 victory, handing Helena their first loss of the season.  Tyler Miller stood in net again for Helena, saving 26 of the 29 shots on net.  Helena’s goals were both scored by Finn Theriault, with two assists awarded to Kelton Chadwick, and one to Hunter Coulombe.   

 

Helena will have a day off Friday, and will host Great Falls at home on Saturday, September 28th.  Tickets for Saturday’s game can be purchased at the link below.
