Coming off a 9-4 win against the Billings Bulls the previous night, the Bighorns struck early and often in their game against the Gillette Wild. Helena’s Theo Campe scored the lone goal of the first period. Teammates Alex DeWitz, Beau Ricketts and Trevor Tracy each had a goal in the second period to give the bighorns a 4-0 lead going into the second intermission.

A couple of Bighorns’ penalties gave the Wild an opportunity to convert on two power play opportunities, cutting Helena’s lead by half. The Bighorns didn’t allow Gillette’s success to faze them, scoring two more goals to finish the game 6-2. Theo Campe and Trevor Tracy each scored two goals over the course of the evening to give them each five points for the weekend. The Bighorns will look to make it three for three with a win over the Wild Sunday afternoon.
