Helena took an early lead in the game with a goal by Cody Blom at 2:57 in the first period, assisted by Balasz Goz and Tyler Narsing.  Teammate Theo Campe scored the game winning goal just six minutes later to give the Bighorns a 2-0 lead going into the first intermission. Fans were treated to a mascot dance-off during the intermission as several of Billy’s mascot friends came to help him celebrate his 11th birthday.

Bozeman scored the first goal of the second more than halfway through the period on a power play opportunity. Helena's Trey Flesch was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 26 saves and let only one puck past him. Beau Ricketts scored the final goal of the evening just a minute later to give the Bighorns a 3-1 win. Bozeman’s goalie also had a great night, giving up only three goals on 61 shots-on-goal.
