HELENA, MT – The Helena Bighorns have acquired forward Hagen Nemzek and defenseman Tyler Narsing, Bighorn President, Mike Butters announced today.

With the USA Hockey trade deadline occurring at midnight on February 6th, the Helena Bighorns made a couple of player acquisitions.

Earlier this morning, the Bighorns acquired forward, Hagen Nemzek, from the Great Falls Americans. Nemzek currently leads the Americans in scoring with 17 goals and 4 assists in just 16 games played. The 20 year old from Winchester, VA was acquired from the Amerks for a 2012 Tender Sheet and future considerations. The 5-11, 185lb. winger enters his final year of junior eligibility and joined the team before today’s practice.

Bighorns Head Coach, Scott Cunningham, expects Nemzek to make an immediate impact on the club. “Hagen is a quality player with high end skill. His desire and work ethic are good and we expect him to add some additional scoring punch to the lineup.”

With only 2 hours left before the deadline, the Bighorns pulled off another solid deal when they acquired defenseman, Tyler Narsing, from the Wenatchee Wild of the NAHL. The Edmond, WA native appeared in 14 games for the Wild this season. The 6-0, 185 lb. defenseman is expected to join the team this week before the Bighorns head out on a 3 game road trip to Billings and Gillette.

Narsing is also expected to make an instant impact with the Big Blue. “Tyler is a player we have had interest in for over a year now,” stated Cunningham. “He is a solid blue-liner who will add some depth to our defensive corps. We are excited to have him.”

Both Narsing and Nemzek are expected to be in the lineup when the Bighorns play a crucial 3 game road swing against the Billings Bulls and Gillette Wild this weekend.
