Despite cinching second place in the AWHL the previous night in a game against the Maulers, the Bighorns didn’t hold anything back in their final game of the regular season against the Great Falls Americans. Forward Theo Campe scored the first goal just a minute into the game on a power play opportunity.  The Americans were able to hold the Bighorns at that goal the rest of the period and only trailed the Bighorns 0-1 going into the first intermission.

Campe came out and started the second period out in a similar style, scoring a second power play goal less than two minutes in. Teammate Alex DeWitz scored the team’s third goal just ten seconds later. Several more Bighorns players scored over the course of the rest of the period, including Drew Ingram and Beau Ricketts. Defenseman Brandon Rumble also scored an unassisted, shot-handed goal. Campe finished his hat trick for the night late in the period with another short-handed goal to leave the Bighorns 7-0 going into the second intermission.

Forward Trevor Tracy took the first goal of the third period, scoring just ninety-five seconds in. His goal was followed by one from Brian Skillicorn and then Ben Henne. The Americans were finally able to get on the board with their lone goal halfway through the period. But the Bighorns weren’t finished and came up with two more goals from Danny Fazio and another from Brandon Rumble to end the evening with a 12-1 win.

The Bighorns will begin the first round of play-offs on Tuesday when the Bighorns host the Billings Bulls.
