With the regular season winding down, the Butte Irish have traded veterans skaters Carson Streich and Patrick Crooks to the Helena Bighorns. Currently sitting atop the NA3HL Frontier Division, Helena will offer an opportunity for the pair to play in the playoffs and a shot at a league championship.

As team captain, Streich has played a consistent role on the blueline for the past three seasons. In 127 career games Streich has score 10 goals and 76 assists.

Crooks is playing his fourth season in the NA3HL. After beginning his career with the Gillette Wild and Great Falls Americans the 20-year old joined Butte in 2022. In 91 games wearing the Cobras/Irish uniform Crooks has scored 64 goals and 52 assists. His 116 points is fifth most in franchise history.

“I’ve had the privilege of coaching these two boys for the past two seasons and they have been a big part of the wins we accumulated together,” said coach Marc Brodeur.
“They will certainly be missed but I know they will help Helena achieve the ultimate goal and both will have successful college careers after this season.”

On behalf of the entire Butte Irish organization we wish both Carson and Patrick good luck the rest of this season and their futures.
