Bighorns and Gillette games both end in overtime, with Gillette taking both wins this weekend

The two top teams in the Frontier Division fought two hard battles and showed no mercy this weekend against each other, ending in both games going into overtime.  Gillette ended out on top not only in Friday night’s game, but also Saturday night’s game.

Friday night’s game ended in a 4-3 win for the Wild.  Goals from the Bighorns were scored by Adam Harvey, Erik Gibboney (Tyler Bloom), and another by Adam Harvey (Tyler Bloom, Erik Gibboney).  Eric Buchholz saved 35 of the 29 shots against him.

Saturday night’s game also ended in a 4-3 loss for the Bighorns.  Buchholz had 55 shots against him, saving 51 of those shots.  Goals for the Bighorns were scored by Tylor Greene (Taber Gutschick), Branwen Pollett (Liam Bland, Tylor Greene), and Jonny Peterson (Gavyn Galloway, Tyler Bloom).

The Bighorns now fall behind the Gillette Wild in standings by 1 point.  They face the Butte Cobras Friday, January 21st, and the Bozeman Icedogs on Saturday, January 22nd.  Both of these are home games for the Bighorns, tickets are on sale now, online, at Play It Again Sports Helena, or at the door.  Doors open at 6:00pm, puck drops at 7:05pm.
