HELENA, MT – The Helena Bighorns have traded defenseman, Kevin Choi, in exchange for forward, Chris Andre, Bighorns’ President, Mike Butters announced today.

Andre is enjoying a solid season in the AWHL, where he has amassed 22 goals and 22 assist, which puts him tied for 11th in league scoring with Daniel Kulikov of Great Falls and Helena’s Corbin Belling.

The 20 year old from New Bedford, MA has 3 power play goals and 5 power play assists. The 5’10” 165 lb. Andre will provide a spark to the Bighorns offense. “Chris is a speedy forward who should add some scoring punch to the line up,” says Bighorns Head Coach, Scott Cunningham.

The Bighorns say goodbye to Choi who was a steady presence on the Helena Blue Line. “Kevin is a solid player who was a pleasure to coach,” said Helena GM, Mike Butters. “We wish him all the best as he embarks on the next chapter of his career for the Quake.

Both players have already reported to their respective clubs and are expected to be in the line up tonight. Chris Andre will wear # 28 for the Bighorns. Helena is at home to Missoula, Friday at the Helena Ice Arena. Game time is 7:35 PM.

The Bighorns currently sit atop the AWHL standings with a record of 33-1-1. Last night’s win vs. Great Falls assured the Big Blue a berth in the 2013 Lewis & Clark Cup Playoffs.
