The Bighorns didn’t waste any time proving that they are ready for a third chance at the Fraser Cup, ending the first games of the season with back-to-back wins over the Yellowstone Quake.
Friday’s game had goaltender Jesse Schindel celebrating his first shutout of the season, saving all 10 shots against him. Goals for Helena were scored by Dylan Cunningham (Nick Corbett, Jason Hammett), Finn Theriault (unassisted), another by Finn Theriault (Elijah Elmer), Garrett Bogan (Dylan Cunningham, Tim Mattingly), Braden Cunningham (Camden Cunningham, Tim Mattingly), and another by Elijah Elmer (unassisted).
Saturday night was another high goal game, and Helena took the win with a 10-1 victory. Goals for Helena were scored by Braden Cunningham (Kelton Chadwick), Ty Moore (Owen Ramsay, Jack Lambert), Garrett Bogan (Jack Lambert, Ty Moore), Joe Feamster (Jack Lambert, Jason Hammett), another by Braden Cunningham (Owen Ramsay, Tim Mattingly), Camden Cunningham (Tim Mattingly, Dylan Cunningham), another by Ty Moore (Jack Lambert, Braden Cunningham), Kelton Chadwick (Alex Lamont), Elijah Elmer (Owen Ramsay, Mason Eggen), and a third goal by Ty Moore giving him a hat trick for the night (Jack Lambert, Owen Ramsay). Goaltender Alex Lamont debuted in net, saving 13 of the 14 shots against him.
