Nick Battaglia came up big, stopping 54 of 55 shots throughout the game. The Helena Bighorns took the lead late in the second on a goal from Shawn Mitchell.
Nicholas Noel had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).
During the second, Kottmeier opened the scoring for Helena with a goal at 6:44 with helpers from his teammates Dietz and Smith. Mitchell deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 16:06 with assists from Niskanen and Battaglia.
During the third period, Shuldt finally put the Quake on the board with a goal at 4:01 with helpers from Stewart and Pelto. Scheibel answered for the Bighorns with a goal at 14:57 with an assist from Noel. Noel deposited a goal at 19:46.
Helena’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Battaglia’s big night as he stopped 54 of the 55 shots he faced. Battaglia’s counterpart, Waszczenko, also had a big night, managing to stop 43 of 47, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Helena Bighorns’ record to (4-2-0-0).
