Petruzzelli scores twice as Bighorns blank Bozeman

BOZEMAN — Anthony Petruzzelli scored a pair of goals and Helena benefitted from a three-goal third period as the Bighorns romped to a 5-0 win over Bozeman Saturday night.

The Bighorns (12-0) outshot Bozeman 47-22 as Nic Wackerly picked up the shutout.

Helena had a 2-0 lead heading into the final period thanks to a goal by Luke Rendino (off a Blair Murphy assist) in the first and another by Michael Sullivan (with assists by Trevor Tracy and Marcus McSweeney) in the second.

Petruzzelli scored both of his in the third around a goal by Mark Palacios. Petruzzelli is now sixth on the team with 20 points, 10 goals and 10 assists.

Taylor D’Agostino had the loss for the Icedogs, stopping 41 shots. Mike Pattullo came in to relieve for 4 minutes, 34 seconds and faced just one shot.

Wackerly is 5-0 on the season, and picked up his first shutout.
