The Helena Bighorns were firing on all cylinders against Glacier, and when the final buzzer sounded Bighorns emerged with a 6-0 win.
The Bighorns excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Glacier was unable to stop Helena from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bighorns eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Team\’s forwards weren\’t the only contributers offensively, and the team\’s defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.
Helena also got points from Bolen-Porter, who also had one goal and one assist and Brandt Miller, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Helena also had goals scored by Nick Trefry, Kyler Chartier, and Brian Skillicorn, who scored one goal each. More assists for Helena came via Johnny Bonta, who had two and Bryan Knesel, Cody Vanthournout, Rory Bock, and Blake Babineau, who each chipped in one.
Grant Martens recorded 20 saves for Helena. The Bighorns totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. Nolan Slager made 31 saves for Glacier on 37 shots. Glacier ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major.
