The first goal of the evening came just under three minutes into the game from Ben Henne. He then got an assist eight minutes later on a goal from Damon Hanson. A Billings penalty shortly afterwards allowed the Bighorns to open up their lead to 3-0 with a power play goal from Hagen Nemzek just a minute later. The Bighorns weren’t finished however and score their fourth goal with a shot from Danny Fazio less than two minutes later. The Bulls finally answered with a goal of their own just thirty-eight seconds later to make the score 4-1. However, the Bighorns weren’t through and finished the period with a goal from Alex DeWitz with less than two minutes remaining.
The scored remained the same at 5-1 throughout the entire second period and didn’t change until six minutes into the third period with a power play goal by defenseman Balazs Goz. The Bulls were able to come up with a final goal fifteen minutes into the period on a power play opportunity but the Bighorns quickly answered with a power play goal of their own from Cody Blom just ninety seconds later. The 7-1 win meant that the Bighorns won the series against the Bulls and will play in the AWHL championship round in April.
