Bighorns Win Home Opener

In their first match up since the Division Finals last season, the Bighorns and Quake took the the ice in Helena's home opener. The Bighorns did not disapoint as they lit the lamp a number of times on their way to a 9-1 victory over their division rival. The “fan friendly” game began with the Bighorns unveiling their 2010 Cascade Cup Championship banner.

Pat Wenzell got the nod in goal for his first regular season start in a Bighorns uniform stopping 23 of 24 Yellowstone shots. The veteran line of Grauer, Hess, and Parkhouse was on fire last night putting up a combined eight points on the evening. The Bighorns Penalty kill was perfect on the night as well shutting down all four of the Quake powerplay opportunities. The Bighorns now look to stop the Bozeman Icedogs (2-0) tonight on home ice. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35 pm.
