HELENA, MT – Helena’s Mike Sullivan has made a commitment to play at the University of Central Oklahoma this season, announced Bighorn President, Mike Butters.
Sullivan, who is a hometown Helena player, made the commitment to play with several Bighorn alumni at the upstart ACHA program. “Michael was a fan favorite in Helena and he had a productive season this year, playing through injury,” said Bighorns President, Mike Butters. Despite receiving several NCAA D-III offers he chose to join 3 of his teammates from the 2011 National Championship team. He was a solid player and we wish him much success.”
Sullivan was a mainstay in the Helena hockey program. In his 3+ years with the Bighorns, he amassed 64 goals and 58 assists for 122 points in 114 games. In the playoffs, he scored 3 times to go along with 6 assists for 9 points in 15 games. In 3 years at the USA Hockey National Tournament, he registered 3 goals and 3 assists in games. Sulivan’s two biggest goals occurred in the 2011 National final, which saw the Bighorns capture the National crown.
The Bighorns’ main camp is set for August 23-26th at the Helena Ice Arena, with the 11th Annual Blue/White Classic set for that Saturday. Admission to training camp is free to all and the Blue/White Classic is free to all season ticket holders.
