BIGHORNS HAVE TWO SELECTED IN NAHL DRAFT

HELENA, MT – The NAHL conducted their draft this past week and the Helena Bighorns saw two of their players selected.

Levi Blom, a 1st year defenseman from Butte, MT was selected 67th overall by the Bismarck Bobcats. Beau Ricketts, a first year forward from Las Vegas, NV was selected first in the 8th round by the Minot Minotaurs.

Helena Head Coach, Scott Cunningham, was pleased to see his players selected. “Both Beau and Levi had good rookie seasons. Their selections are a reward for that.”

In 44 games, Blom recorded 2 goals and 30 assists from the blueline, while Ricketts had 23 tallies with 25 assists in 47 games for Helena. Ricketts was also the AWHL’s Rookie of the Year.

The NAHL draft, conducted each June, is for NAHL teams to fill their rosters with any junior eligible player. The Bighorns players selected were the only two from the AWHL.

The Helena Bighorns are entering their 12th season in the Queen City. In the past 8 seasons, the Bighorns have captured 7 league championships to go along with their National Championship in 2011. For season tickets and all Bighorn happenings, fans can log on to www.helenebighorns.com.
