Bighorns Acquire Ricky Doubrava

The Bighorns announced today that they have recently acquired Tri-City Titans star Ricky Doubrava in a NORPAC team dispersal draft.

With the recent dissolution of the Tri-City franchise, the NORPAC held a draft dispersing the teams eligible players throughout the league. The Bighorns traded picks 11 and 12 to the Butte Roughriders their rights to the first pick and selected Doubrava.

At 5' 10" and 160 lbs. Doubrava is a speedy forward who presents a threat five on five and when short-handed. The Portland, OR native played the last two season with the Titans and led the team in scoring last season. With 35 points his rookie season in '08-09, he nearly doubled that output in '09-10 registering 34 goals and 29 assist for 63 points in 46 games. He also brings some grit to the table adding 143 minutes in penalties last season.

"We are exited to potentially have Ricky here in Helena this season. He will some quickness up front and will provide leadership at this level," says Bighorns Head Coach, Scott Cunningham.

The Bighorns are gearing up for their Main Camp which takes place August 26th through the 29th here in Helena.
